Easy Method To Get The Paint Out Of Carpet

Latex Paints

Things Required:

  • Clean cloth rags
  • Wet Vacuum
  • 1 tablespoon of Dishwashing Detergent
  • 1 Cup of Lukewarm Water

Methodology:

  • Dab the damp cloth rag on the stained carpet to let it absorb as much paint as possible. Do not scrub on the carpet with the rag or it will spread the paint stain.
  • Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing dishwashing detergent with lukewarm water.
  • Pour this cleaning solution onto a new clean rag. Slowly dab the stain working from the outside of the stain to the center.
  • Use a very light hand to stop the paint, to go more deep into the carpet fabric.
  • In case the paint has dried up, let the cleaning solution sit for 5 minutes and repeat the above process.
  • If the paint spill is large, use a knife or paint scraper to take out some of the paint.
  • Use a wet vacuum to clear up as much paint as possible. Steam carpet cleaner machines also work really well for this process.

Oil Paints

Things Required:

  • Clean cloth rags
  • Putty Knife
  • Empty Container
  • Steam Cleaner
  • Turpentine
  • 1 tablespoon of Dishwashing Detergent
  • 2 Cups of Cold Lukewarm Water

Methodology:

  • Remove the excess paint with the help of a putty knife. Don’t scrub the putty knife, instead try to get under the paint and gently throw it off the carpet.
  • Keep an empty container in handy and put in all the excessive paint in it.
  • If the paint has dried up, use a steam cleaner to soften it up. After paint softens up, dab the area with a clean rag.
  • Wear gloves to do while using turpentine for safety purposes. Pour some turpentine on a clean rag and gently dab it on the stain. The turpentine will separate the oil from the paints.
  • Prepare a cleaning solution by mixing in the dishwashing detergent with cold water and clean the spot with it.
  • Dry the area with paper towels.
